About
LMRCK is a collaborative mapping initiative developed through the Síolta Glasa project with West Limerick Resources: :
- Documents shared community resources and knowledge.
- Built through workshops with community groups across Limerick on an ongoing basis.
- Accessible through an open-source mapping platform: opengreenmap.org.
- Community groups are invited to contribute to the live map.
LMRCK is more than a map. It helps communities to:
- Identify and value local assets through a shared platform.
- Connect people, places, and knowledge.
- Support co-resilience, co-sufficiency, and shared community wealth.
- Foster conversation and collaboration across groups and generations.
LMRCK launched in September 2025 and has only begun to become populated by community groups facilitated through the Síolta Glasa project. It is a non-exhaustive map and is expected to change, evolve and become more detailed over time as communities take ownership of their own locality and we invite you to get involved by contributing directly.
Visit our Resources page to:
- Download resources to run your own mapping sessions.
- Contribute directly to the Open Green Map Platform.
LMRCK was initiated through a collaboration between Nocht Studio and West Limerick Resources: as part of the Síolta Glasa project.
This initiative is co-funded by Creative Ireland, the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, through Limerick City and County Council Creative Climate Action – Síolta Glasa, and West Limerick Resources through SICAP. The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development, and the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021-2027.
The launch of LMRCK is only the beginning. Please get involved and contribute to a shared map of what we value, together!
